Lori Perkins, Grants Coordinator of the Ausherman Family Foundation, was recently presented with the Touching Lives Award. This event is presented by the Frederick Nonprofit Alliance at the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce and recognizes nonprofit organizations’ staff members who demonstrate exceptional involvement and commitment to positively affecting the lives of others in the community.
Lori is responsible for most aspects of the grantmaking process at the Ausherman Family Foundation and is often the first person nonprofits interact with. The nonprofit organizations that are funded consistently attest to receiving an exceptional level of customer service and support from the Foundation, most of which can be attributed to Lori’s steadfast attention to detail and passion for her position. She takes pride in her work and is constantly finding new ways to enhance and streamline the grantmaking process. Her goal is to save nonprofits time and make processes as efficient as possible. Lori often comes across articles or potential opportunities that relate to the work of a fellow funder or nonprofit and happily shares the information with them, always keeping the needs of others top of mind. She is also a vital member of the Nonprofit Summit Committee and always goes the extra mile to ensure the event is a success each year. In her free time, Lori gives back to the Frederick community by volunteering at various organizations.
