Ausherman Family Foundation provided Supporting Older Adults Through Resources, Inc. (“SOAR”) with a $10,000 General Grant to fund general operating expenses. SOAR is an all volunteer led organization that provides financial and other resources to older adults in Frederick County to help obtain unmet essential needs in a confidential, dignified and respectful manner.

One of the high priorities named in the Frederick County Needs Assessment was preparing for a growing elderly population. SOAR supports low income seniors with needed essentials such as the cost of medicine, housing, utilities, transportation, home modifications, and medical equipment. These items help seniors remain in their homes comfortably and safely for a longer period of time.
