Reflections on the 2024 Nonprofit Summit

On June 12, 2024, Frederick Community College was abuzz with energy and enthusiasm as over 200 nonprofit professionals gathered for the annual Nonprofit Summit. The event was a vibrant mix of learning, networking, and growth designed to enhance the skills and connections of everyone involved.

The day started with an inspiring keynote address by Dr. John Brothers, a noted leader in the nonprofit sector. Dr. Brothers, known for his role at T. Rowe Price Foundation and his significant contributions to philanthropy, shared valuable insights on strategic charity work and sustainable growth in the nonprofit world. His talk set a high bar for the day, energizing attendees with fresh ideas and perspectives.

Throughout the day, participants enjoyed a “choose your own adventure” experience, selecting from 20 different hour-long sessions tailored to a wide range of interests and professional needs. This format allowed each attendee to customize their schedule, ensuring that everyone could focus on what was most relevant and important to their work.

In total, 15 expert speakers shared their knowledge and experiences, covering topics ranging from marketing to QuickBooks to board engagement. The sessions were informative and provided fantastic networking opportunities, as participants connected with peers who shared their passions and challenges.

As we reflect on the success of the 2024 Nonprofit Summit, we are grateful for the moments of connection and growth. We left the Summit with new knowledge and valuable new connections that will continue to enrich our work in the nonprofit sector. We look forward to seeing everyone again at the next event, ready to continue our journey of learning and collaboration.
