“More Than Money” Experiences
Frederick Nonprofit Summit
The Ausherman Family Foundation, in partnership with The Community Foundation of Frederick County, the United Way of Frederick County, The Helen J. Serini Foundation, PNC Foundation, Downtown Frederick Partnership, and Association of Fundraising Professionals Western Maryland Chapter, plans and implements an annual Frederick Nonprofit Summit. The intent is to provide quality, affordable educational programs for nonprofit board members, staff members, and volunteers. The sessions focus on diverse topics pertinent to organizational capacity building and address issues identified by leaders in Frederick’s nonprofit sector. The partnership approach enables the committee to tap into the knowledge base and resources of local funding organizations as well as draw on their support to help find and obtain quality presenters at affordable costs.
Frederick Funders Group
A group of the staff from local funders who meet regularly in order to streamline the grant process for Frederick nonprofits and analyze the combined data of all of the organizations to find gaps in services and analyze historical giving. Participants include Ausherman Family Foundation, The Helen J. Serini Foundation, The Community Foundation of Frederick County, United Way of Frederick County, Frederick County and the Delaplaine Foundation. This group offers select trainings throughout the year.
Philanthropist Roundtable
The Philanthropist Roundtable is a forum for the decision-makers in Frederick County philanthropies to meet, learn about one another’s visions, and explore the possibility of combining efforts and resources to address significant needs of the community. The goals are to evolve through common interests, shared leadership, and creative initiatives.
The Ausherman Family Foundation hosts the Philanthropist Roundtable and allows the group to identify an issue and address it collectively. Gatherings are held twice a year and discussions are facilitated by an objective party. Agendas are determined by the members. This event is by invitation only.
Executive Director Breakfast
Three times a year, the Ausherman Family Foundation hosts a breakfast that brings together the paid leaders and executives of local nonprofits. Executives have input on topics for discussion related to leading a nonprofit organization. After the hour-long dialogue, notes are compiled and shared when appropriate. This event is by invitation only.
Funder Partnership Opportunities
The Ausherman Family Foundation strives to develop creative partnerships in order to best serve the community and address societal issues. Just as the Foundation strongly encourages nonprofit cooperation, they are also actively seeking partnerships with other grantmaking institutions in order to improve the Frederick County area.
Staff members or Trustees of grantmaking institutions or philanthropically-minded individuals are encouraged to meet with the Trustees of the Ausherman Family Foundation to discuss potential partnerships.
