The Ausherman Family Foundation, a private foundation established in 2006, recently announced the addition of a new trustee to their board of trustees, Kerry McHugh.
Kerry is currently the Program Officer of the Helen J. Serini Foundation. There, she manages partner relationships with nonprofits and funders across the state of Maryland to effect systemic change around issues of poverty and income inequality. Prior to joining the Helen J. Serini Foundation, she worked in advertising and communications with government and non-profit clients, with a specific focus on behavior change and community-based marketing campaigns.
Kerry also serves on the board of Exponent Philanthropy, a national association for funders who operate with few or no staff. She works with partners across the sector on supporting the engagement of the next generation of non-profit and philanthropic leaders, including facilitating Exponent Philanthropy’s annual Next Gen Fellows program and co-leading the Rising Leaders Affinity Group at the Maryland Philanthropy Network.
“The Helen J. Serini Foundation has partnered with the Ausherman Family Foundation for several years across a variety of projects,” said McHugh. “I am honored to be joining the trustees of the Ausherman Family Foundation in this new role to build deeper relationships with nonprofits in Frederick County and further support and expand the foundation’s impact in the community.”
The Foundation’s Trustees have been committed to supporting nonprofit organizations in Frederick County advance their charitable outcomes by empowering the passion for change.
