On July 20, the Nonprofit Young Professionals met at Rockwell Riverside Brewery for its first Happy Hour! The Nonprofit Young Professionals Group is a collaborative effort between the Ausherman Family Foundation and the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce’s Nonprofit Alliance and Generation Connect. Together, these entities have provided impactful programming and networking opportunities for young and emerging professionals.
Learning opportunities, so far, have included Navigating Relationships Between Boards and Staff by Elin Ross of Federated Charities and Budgeting Within Your Nonprofit led by Linda Morgan of Support Unlimited. Then, in June, the group attended a site visit to the Student Homelessness Initiative Partnership (SHIP) which facilitated good conversations and meaningful connections.
Programming will continue to be provided to the nonprofit community in a variety of venues, so please make sure to join the Chamber’s email list to receive notifications about upcoming events like these!
The next event will be on September 15 from 12PM-1PM at the C. Burr Artz Library Community Room. The topic is Financial Planning Tips: Banking, Lending, and Investments to Prepare for Your Future and will be presented by Woodsboro Bank. This presentation will help attendees learn bank account types, loan options, and what lenders look for in a qualified borrower. Connect with other professionals at this event. Food will be provided.
