In 1997 Carrie Delente envisioned a service to the nonprofit and professional association community to develop large-scale portals that would reside on the Internet – a concept some thought would never fly. But what began in her basement as an idea rapidly expanded to five employees and has twice outgrown its working space. Before “LMS” was a household word, the predecessor of Apprende was envisioned and born. It soon became apparent how Carrie was visionary in her thought. Now in historic downtown Frederick, Maryalnd, under her leadership Enforme Interactive with its flagship product Apprende has grown to become the industry leader in managing online presence for nonprofits and professional Associations. 

With her background in design, extensive experience developing in all manner of web-based technologies, both common and emerging, Carrie leads a team of developers, usability and user experience experts, and designers helping clients and their constituents connect in meaningful ways. Carrie is passionate about how connections made through Apprende-driven portals are literally helping people solve some of the planet’s most puzzling issues – whether that be through scientific research, patient education, or conference proceedings. 

Carrie is now using her impressive experience on the Ausherman Family Foundation Multi-Year Grants Committee. We are thrilled to have her as a part of our organization and learn from her vast amount of knowledge.
